A series gathers the chapters that share a world: a locker room, a fire station, a stretch of highway at dusk. Inside one, the seasons follow each other and the same men come back, which is what makes a series worth reading in order rather than at random. Each one below opens on its own page, with every chapter it holds. Pick the world first; the men and the registers come after.
Each series below shows how many chapters it holds. A short one is an evening; a long one is a year of seasons and is better taken in order. None of them needs the others: a series is a world that stands on its own, and starting with its most recent chapter costs nothing. The men, though, travel: the same face turns up in two worlds more often than not.
